Job Description Summary
This position is a joint recruiting effort between the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics, the Darby Children’s Research Institute, the Hollings Cancer Center, and the Integrated Center for Cellular Therapy at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, South Carolina. We are searching for a physician scientist studying immune‑based approaches for the treatment of childhood cancers, with particular interest in CAR T or other cell therapies. However, other immunological research areas, such as the role of immune cells in the tumor microenvironment, mechanisms of immune suppression, and the development of novel immunotherapies will be considered.

Expected Responsibilities
Maintain a vigorous, nationally recognized translational and clinical research program.
Develop and execute immune‑based research projects involving CAR T or other cell therapies.
Collaborate across the integrated research institutes and core facilities.
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform job functions in an upright position (Frequent), seated position (Frequent), while walking/mobile (Frequent). Ability to work indoors (Continuous), outdoors in all weather and temperature extremes (Infrequent), in confined/cramped spaces (Infrequent), from kneeling positions (Infrequent), squat (Infrequent), perform pinching operations (Infrequent), use both hands/arms (Frequent). Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders (Frequent). Reach in all directions (Frequent). Possess good finger dexterity (Continuous). Maintain tactile sensory functions (Continuous). Lift and carry 15 lbs, unassisted (Infrequent). Maintain 20/40 vision (Continuous). Maintain good peripheral vision and hearing acuity (Continuous).
