Geologist/Geomodeler - RESA IV
Responsibilities

Conduct subsurface geological interpretation and analysis, including wireline log interpretation, core description, incorporation of petrophysical analyses, and mapping.

Construct, modify, and refine basin‑scale 3D geo‑cellular models of unconventional hydrocarbon resources; work closely with senior geologic modeler to understand current state of models and workflows.

Contribute expertise to basin modelling and fracture analysis on an as‑needed basis.

Document and present research in oral and poster formats to sponsors, in publications, and at regional and national meetings; perform internal and professional society service.

Interact with sponsors and potential sponsors, collaborating with team members on program development.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Geology or a closely related field, with at least four years of experience in subsurface interpretation and geomodelling. Experience with fracture modelling and the impact of diagenesis on fracture development. Significant experience with and/or an advanced degree in statistics. Experience creating geologic models within Petrel. Ability to code in Python and R.

Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in Geology with some petroleum industry experience (internships acceptable) and familiarity with unconventional reservoirs. Knowledge of the Barnett Shale play in the Permian Basin. Experience with reservoir characterization and thermal modelling of basins.

Salary Range
92,000 + depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

May work around standard office conditions.

Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

Occasional weekend, overtime, and evening work to meet deadlines.

Occasional travel intrastate, interstate, international.

Occasionally drive UT vehicle.
