Responsibilities
The Assistant Banquets Manager will be responsible for managing banquet events at the hotel. This person supervises the service of all banquet and meeting functions at the Hyatt Regency Seattle & Hyatt at Olive 8. This role is highly detailed and focuses on completing event requirements and creating a memorable experience for guests.
Supports and manages the Event Services (Banquets) department while working closely with the Area Director of Banquets, Area Convention Services Manager, Director and Assistant Director of Operations, the Culinary team, the Event Planning team, Stewarding, and other hotel departments.
Supervises, empowers, leads, coaches, and motivates the teams—including captains and banquet servers—toward achieving exceptional guest service results and colleague engagement.
Assists the hotel in reaching top box service scores on Meeting Planner surveys.
Ensures thorough communication and understanding with guests and other departments by reviewing Banquet Event Orders.
Supports the review of staffing and equipment needs.
Supports the coordination and execution of all events with Culinary, Stewarding, Event Planning & Sales, and Event Setup.
Maintains a high energy, positive, professional appearance.
Develops innovative and creative décor for Banquet function space.
Supports both short‑term and long‑term banquet functions in the front and back of the house.
Creates an environment that establishes the highest standards of quality service and ensures implementation through hiring, training, development, promotion, and continuous reinforcement.
Handles administrative tasks including payroll facilitation, reports, forecasts, point‑of‑sale procedures, inventory, and budget for food and beverage functions.
Performs daily walk‑throughs in the banquet department and all function spaces and storerooms to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards.
Develops ideas for special events and holiday functions.
The Assistant Banquet Manager is an integral part of the hotel's overall Food and Beverage team. You will work alongside your colleagues in the Food & Beverage Team to foster a successful Food & Beverage operation.
The salary range for this position is $80,170 to $106,000. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors, including experience, qualifications, and education.
