Qualifications
Education and Certification
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Master’s degree (preferred)
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for the subject and level assigned
ESL certification (preferred)
Or ability to obtain ESL certification within one year of hire
Experience
One (1) year of clinical teaching (preferred)
One (1) year of full-time teaching experience may be substituted for clinical teaching experience.

Key Responsibilities
Instructional Strategies
Implement lesson plans aligned with the district’s curriculum, demonstrating written preparation as required.
Deliver engaging instruction using appropriate strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that address diverse learning styles and student needs, following Texas Education Agency guidelines, board policies, and administrative regulations.
Integrate technology effectively into instruction to enhance student learning and engagement.
Assess student learning styles and use results to tailor instructional activities for maximum impact.
Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula and provide appropriate accommodations for students receiving special education services, ensuring compliance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
Work collaboratively with colleagues to establish instructional goals, objectives, and methods that align with district expectations.
Supervise and provide direction to instructional aides and volunteers, ensuring assigned tasks support student learning objectives.
Student Growth and Development
Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement using both formal and informal methods to monitor progress and inform instruction.
Support students in developing effective study habits and self-reflection strategies to enhance learning.
Lead and participate in extracurricular activities as assigned, including sponsoring campus principal-approved events that enrich student experiences.
Serve as a positive role model for students, demonstrating professionalism and reinforcing the school district's mission.
Classroom Management and Organization
Establish and maintain a classroom environment that supports student learning and fosters physical, social, and emotional development.
Manage student behavior effectively, implementing disciplinary measures in accordance with Board policies, administrative regulations, and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Ensure the safety and security of students, equipment, materials, and facilities by taking necessary precautions.
Assist in selecting instructional materials, including books, equipment, and other educational resources.
Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws. Understands the importance of following the grading policy.
Enforce school rules, administrative regulations, district policies, and Board directives while presenting subject matter in alignment with established guidelines.
Communication
Foster and maintain professional, open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members to support student success.
Communicate information accurately, clearly, and professionally, using appropriate verbal and written skills.
Keep the principal informed of classroom conditions, student needs, and the implementation of new instructional techniques and materials.
Professional Growth and Development
Engage in staff development opportunities to enhance job-related skills and instructional effectiveness.
Stay informed of and adhere to all state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers.
Actively participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.
Additional Responsibilities

Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Participate in professional development, faculty/department meetings, and special events as assigned.
