
PenFed Home Purchase Advisor

PenFed is hiring a (Hybrid) PenFed Home Purchase Advisor at our Phoenix, Arizona location. The PenFed Home Purchase Advisor serves members seeking home-related financial solutions and plays a dual role as a trusted home purchase advisor and mortgage loan officer. This position is responsible for identifying member needs, deepening their relationship with PenFed, and delivering an integrated lending and real estate experience. This role conducts a home buying needs assessment, provides mortgage consultations, completes preapprovals, originates full mortgage applications, and guides members through the mortgage process from initial inquiry through funding. In addition they are able to to provide qualified referrals to PenFed Realty. Success requires exceptional communication, strong mortgage acumen (supported through training), and a member-first mindset that ensures each member receives personalized guidance across all PenFed Home offerings.
Start Date: June 8th, 2026
Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.
Bachelor’s degree in management, marketing or a related field is required.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in self generating sales roles such as account management, inside sales, retail, or real estate is preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of residential mortgage lending experience with a focus on generating business is preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills required, with the ability to engage members in consultative conversations.
Ability to quickly learn, understand, and clearly explain financial and real estate concepts to members.
Basic financial literacy and strong math skills required.
Proficiency with digital tools and platforms, including CRM, LOS systems, chat, and web portals; must be able to manage multiple systems simultaneously.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and service quality.
Strong follow-up skills with the ability to track referrals, outcomes, and member engagement effectively.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as business needs require.
Must have access to a designated home workspace in case remote work is needed.
Experience using A.I. tools preferred.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position will not supervise employees.
Licenses and Certifications
Must have an active NMLS license.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*
Travel
Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.

Serve as the trusted advisor for members seeking home lending and real estate solutions, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience.
Acquire, deepen, and maintain member relationships through consultative conversations, needs assessments, and proactive outreach.
Provide qualified referrals to PenFed Realty, ensuring members are paired with trusted real estate partners.
Educate members on the value of PenFed’s Home solutions portfolio, helping them make informed financial decisions.
Collaborate with internal partners across PenFed Home to deliver consistent service and meet member product deepening objectives.
Maintain an accurate pipeline of member referrals and track outcomes to measure impact on engagement and growth.
Adapt to evolving market conditions, member expectations, and sales practices while maintaining compliance with policies and regulations.
Represent the PenFed brand by reinforcing trust, service excellence, and a member-focused experience in every interaction.
Act as a trusted advocate to PenFed members and prospective membership, related to the the purchase of their home.
Promptly answer and follow up on all phone calls and lead opportunities.
Ensure all quality measures for the application are being met.
Learn and utilize assigned programs and technology to maintain regulatory requirements related to the position.
