Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our team as a Financial Analyst - Sales Analytics. In this role, you will play a crucial part in automating and validating sales performance data and identifying key insights on successes, failures, and areas of improvement. The ideal candidate will possess strong Excel skills, a proficiency in SQL or a willingness to learn, be able to communicate with sales, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment. You will work cross‑functionally with the finance and technology teams to deliver successful reporting and reporting improvements to our sales leaders and senior management.
Responsibilities
Review sales transaction data for insights, validate accuracy, and identify data issues.
Use SQL to extract and validate data within automated dashboards.
Execute and validate test plans to ensure accuracy and functionality of new sales reporting dashboards.
Develop reports and dashboards to track sales performance metrics and KPIs.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather data and insights supporting sales strategies.
Identify process improvement opportunities within the sales reporting cycle and recommend solutions.
Determine sales attribution for sales transactions based on rules of engagement.
Review sales attribution override requests and communicate status updates to sales leaders.
Present findings and insights to stakeholders clearly and concisely.
Identify internal process improvement initiatives related to customer sales proposal workflows.
Manage projects related to technology improvements in sales reporting and analytics.
Assist with the design and development of PowerPoint presentations for internal sales meetings.
Analyze new sales contracts to identify trends, patterns, and growth opportunities.
Evaluate sales cancellations and assess underlying reasons to provide actionable recommendations.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required from an accredited, not‑for‑profit, in‑person college/university.
4+ years’ experience in finance, preferably in sales‑oriented finance, sales operations, or financial planning & analysis, with proven success analyzing and reporting on sales results.
An analytical business background, problem‑solving skills, strategic thinking and high attention to detail.
Experience working cross‑functionally with Technology, Sales, and Finance teams.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Ability to use graphs and charts to explain data.
Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.Preferred proficiency in SQL.
