
Civil Structural Engineer

Overview
Structural Engineer to support the design and analysis of structural systems for custom architectural projects. This role involves working closely stakeholders to develop safe, efficient, and constructible designs using industry-standard tools and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of systems including steel, aluminum structures including connection design, moment frames, and foundation and anchoring design.
Develop and review structural calculations, reports, and drawings
Utilize RAM Elements for structural analysis and design
Work with StruWare software
Design and analyze structural connections (bolted, welded, and specialty systems)
Design and analyze glazing systems for polycarbonate and glass
Collaborate with project managers, designers, and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable
Review shop drawings and provide engineering support during fabrication and installation phases
Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE, AISC, CSA where applicable)
Participate in value engineering and optimization of structural systems
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Professional Engineer (PE) license
8+ years of relevant structural engineering experience (flexible based on candidate strength)
Proficiency with RAM Elements
Experience with StruWare or similar structural software
Strong knowledge of North American design codes and standards
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of fabrication processes and constructability considerations
Experience working in a design-build or manufacturing environment
