The Technician will be responsible for installation, termination and configuration of access control devices, such as card readers, request to exit, electrified door hardware, access control panels, analog and IP cameras, camera servers (NVR), power supplies, cable pathway systems, and various cables. They will directly supervise Field Technicians and Installers to meet project milestones set by Project Managers and Field Supervisors. Installations are performed in new construction and retrofit scenarios.

Essential Functions

Install various access control devices and electrified door hardware.

Install and connect access control panels, power supplies, and control equipment.

Install and program various CCTV (analog and IP cameras).

Install and program various NVRs and VMS platforms.

Install cable and pathway systems to support security systems.

Lead a team of field technicians under the project manager.

Maintain high quality control.

Ensure safety on the job site.

Perform end‑user training.

Participate in project commissioning and testing.

Minimum Qualifications

Hold at least two VMS system certifications.

Hold at least one access control system certification.

Minimum one year of experience in basic configuration of physical security systems.

Attended training and received a certificate from at least one camera manufacturer.

Hold OSHA‑10 certification.

Minimum two years of experience as a Field Technician (or equivalent).

Must pass background check and drug test.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficiency in low voltage principles (Ohm’s law, load calculations, metering, etc.).

Effective communication with customer IT and Facilities staff.

Effective coordination with other trades.

Proficiency in installation, termination and configuration of IP camera technology, controller hardware, power supplies, door hardware, and credential technologies.

Competency in principles and concepts of physical security systems and ability to apply knowledge in the field.

Physical Demands
This position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.

Work Environment
The role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to various environmental conditions, including outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or heavy machinery, and use of hand tools or hardware. Employees may be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment.
