The Licensed Interior Designer is a collaborative, self‑directed professional responsible for supporting the planning, design, coordination, and documentation of interior environments across all phases of a project. This role contributes to the successful delivery of projects through design ideation, technical execution, and cross‑disciplinary coordination.

Interior Designer

Responsibilities

Contribute to design ideation, development, and execution throughout all project phases.

Participate in regular project communications, coordination efforts, and design visualization materials, including presentation decks, renderings, and conceptual sketches.

Produce and coordinate technical drawing sets for all project phases, including Design Development, Construction Documents, permitting, and bidding.

Conduct material research and support product selection, specifications, and finish schedules.

Assist with furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) selection and procurement.

Collaborate with project team members to ensure design intent, quality, and technical accuracy.

Support documentation standards, organization, and consistency across project deliverables.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in Revit and BlueBeam.

Registered Interior Designer with a minimum of 4+ years of experience in the design industry (preferably in multifamily, commercial, or institutional building types).

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and adaptability to industry‑standard management tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Commercial experience, preferably in housing.

Experience with design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred but not required.

Additional accreditations such as WELL or Passive House are highly valued.

Passion for design and engagement in extracurricular or industry‑related activities.

Work Environment
The studio consists of 12 employees and offers an on‑site schedule, fostering a collaborative and supportive culture. Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Washington, DC.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year.

Quarterly, merit‑based profit‑sharing bonuses (average $10,000 per year).

Paid Time Off: 3 weeks per year (15 work days). Up to 1 week of unused vacation may be rolled over to the next year.

Office closes between December 24 and January 1.

Holidays: 7 paid holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday.

Continuing Education stipend: $250 per year.

Reimbursements for AIA, LEED, WELL or similar memberships/accreditations.

Health insurance: Company pays 50% of medical and dental plans.

Retirement fund: Simple IRA; company matches contributions up to 3%.

Paid sick leave as required by DC law.

This is a fully onsite position in Washington, DC.
