
Aircraft Pilot 1 (Multi-PCN)

Overview
Recruitment exempt from hiring freeze (Administrative Order 358) and open nationwide. Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
This position pilots State‑owned or leased single‑engine fixed‑wing and/or reciprocating helicopters in support of law enforcement missions, Search and Rescue (SAR), and other missions as directed. Pilot may serve in the following duty positions:
Light single‑engine fixed‑wing aircraft pilot and/or instructor.
Turbine aircraft pilot and/or instructor.
Qualifications
Current FAA license as a single‑engine commercial pilot with an instrument rating.
At least 1,500 flight hours, including 500 hours as PIC on fixed‑wing aircraft; 250 PIC hours must be Alaska time, with 100 logged within the past 12 months.
Preferred 100 hours of turbine (prop) experience.
Knowledge of light fixed‑wing maintenance procedures and ability to conduct post‑maintenance checks.
Computer skills for flight planning and weather briefings.
Ability to make safe go
o‑go decisions regarding weather, mission, and other safety factors.
Must pass a flight check with a certified flight instructor.
Requires a Class II medical certificate.
