Job Summary
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment in Davenport, Iowa. You will provide advanced respiratory care to patients with respiratory disorders and critical illnesses, collaborate with the healthcare team, and contribute to patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
One year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC
Valid respiratory therapy license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
ACLS or PALS Certification (AHA/ARC)
Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Essential Responsibilities
Collaborate with physicians to develop patient treatment plans
Assess and interview patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders
Perform diagnostic tests (e.g., lung capacity measurements, blood/sputum samples)
Treat patients with methods including chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications
Set up and monitor equipment to ensure correct oxygen delivery and rate
Observe and document patient status and progress
Work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure appropriate patient care
Educate patients and/or family members on medications and equipment use
Perform other duties within the scope of RRT practice
Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication
Read, write, and communicate in English
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; proficient in PC skills
Physical Abilities:
remain stationary as needed, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push/pull, and bend
Interpersonal Skills:
work effectively with a variety of personnel to maintain professionalism
Technical/Motor Skills:
grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and assist with procedures and equipment
Mental Requirements:
cope with frequent contact with the public, meet deadlines under pressure, and work with varying supervision levels
Sensory:
visual acuity and effective communication
