Overview
The Division of Child and Family Services is recruiting for a Psychiatric Caseworker I underfilling Psychiatric Caseworker II with the Wraparound in Nevada (WIN) Program in Las Vegas. The role serves as Family Engagement Specialist. Responsibilities include reviewing and screening children and youth referred to WIN, processing incoming referrals, collaborating with community and system partners, gathering pertinent information through meetings with youth and families, completing assessments for care coordination, and applying community resources knowledge.

Responsibilities

Review and screen referrals for children and youth referred to WIN, ensuring required clinical information is provided.

Collaborate with community and system partners to obtain missing or required information promptly.

Meet with youth and families to gather information and complete assessments for care coordination.

Triage youth based on need, including post‑placement or risk factors for out‑of‑home placement, and determine timeliness of assignment.

Provide immediate crisis response or link to appropriate crisis interventions.

Document and maintain client progress notes, treatment plans, and service/care coordination plans.

Coordinate and integrate services among multidisciplinary teams and client support systems.

Monitor treatment plan progress, evaluate effectiveness, and adjust plans as necessary.

Educate clients and families on coping skills, daily living issues, employment, rights, and benefits.

Develop and implement discharge, housing, and developmental skill plans; monitor housing contracts and service quality.

Arrange transportation, court appearances, and community assistance services.

Provide crisis intervention, including behavioral and environmental controls and restraint if needed, per protocols.

Supervise, evaluate, and train lower‑level staff, students, and interns.

Participate in staff, committee, task force meetings, and continuing education on de‑escalation, wraparound, and other topics.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a closely related human services field.

At least one year of experience assisting professionals in direct client care and implementing treatment or service/care coordination plans for individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities (or equivalent education/experience).

Ability to conduct psychosocial assessments, prepare evaluations, and develop service/care coordination plans.

Proficiency in using systems and sources to coordinate services, monitor treatment plans, and document quality of care.

Knowledge of community resources, services, and supports, as well as daily living skills training.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; empathy, courtesy, and respect when interacting with youth, families, and partners.

Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, manage crises, and provide staff training.

General knowledge of

daily living skills, therapeutic interpersonal interactions, substance abuse problems, organic problems, mental illness, developmental disabilities, and common clinical interventions.

Ability to

make assessments, prepare care plans, evaluate functioning, instruct clients, write concise reports, follow policies, defuse aggression, research instructional material, and complete billing and documentation.
