Responsibilities

Evaluate appropriateness of diet orders for diagnosis and recommend diet order changes as indicated

Instruct patients and families on dietary principles, restrictions, and practical strategies to achieve health goals per physician diet order

Conduct patient visits including screening for nutrition concerns relating to malnutrition, tube feeding, TPN, and special diets related to disease

Develop personalized nutrition plans and implement interventions based on the patient’s current health

Monitor the effectiveness of nutrition plans, adjusting as needed to improve outcomes

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and aides

Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice for Registered Dietitians

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

One year of recent experience as a registered dietitian

Valid Dietitian license in compliance with state regulations

Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Cer.A.T (ASATT)

Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Summary
Registered Dietitians provide expert advice on food and nutrition to support patients’ health and well-being by assessing dietary needs, developing personalized nutrition plans, and monitoring outcomes to manage chronic conditions, address malnutrition, or meet specific health goals.

Essential Work Functions
