DSHS BHHA Fircrest – Registered Nurse 2
Join our team at Fircrest Residential Habilitation Center in Shoreline, where you’ll provide essential nursing care to individuals with intellectual disabilities in a supportive, team‑driven environment. As a Registered Nurse 2, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care across a variety of settings while guiding and supporting staff in delivering high‑quality services. This role plays a key part in promoting client health, safety, and quality of life, ensuring each individual receives compassionate, coordinated care.
We will be filling one Registered Nurse 2 position on the Nursing Facility (NF) day shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) as a permanent role, and one Registered Nurse 2 position on the Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) day shift (6:30 AM – 3:00 PM) as a non‑permanent role. Some of what you’ll do
Serve as the Health Care Coordinator (HCC) for an assigned caseload, including coverage for other HCCs as needed.
Conduct and document nursing assessments, quarterly reviews, medication monitoring, and develop individualized health plans.
Monitor, assess, and respond to client health conditions; develop and implement nursing care plans using the nursing process.
Coordinate medical care, including scheduling appointments, communicating with providers, and notifying leadership of critical updates.
Administer medications and treatments, transcribe and implement provider orders, and ensure accurate documentation of all care activities.
Provide clinical guidance, training, and consultation to licensed practical nurses and direct care staff; support infection control and wellness practices.
Respond to emergencies, lead response efforts when assigned, complete incident reporting, and ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Desired skills, knowledge, and abilities
Professional nursing experience with strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Ability to accurately assess, document, and evaluate client health status and responses to care.
Skill in collecting and analyzing data to develop, implement, and adjust effective care plans.
Ability to recognize and communicate changes in client condition to appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.
Knowledge of mandatory reporting requirements, including identifying and reporting abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, families, providers, and team members.
Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and maintain composure in high‑pressure situations.
Who should apply?
Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
One year of professional nursing experience.

King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use.
