The Physician is responsible for overseeing the quality of care delivered to their patients, assessing clinical appropriateness for admission, performing psychiatric assessments, implementing therapeutic care & directing the treatment team in continuing care efforts. Completes necessary documentation to ensure accurate reimbursement for service provided, and, if applicable, to address patients hospitalized under civil commitment statutes. Provides psychiatric consultations as requested and complies with all Medical Staff Bylaws, Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, and facilities policies.

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited medical school or foreign equivalent degree.
Completion of an accredited residency program in psychiatry OR at least be in the 6th month of PGY-3 or higher in an ACGME-accredited Psychiatric Residency or in a Psychiatry Fellowship Program PGY-4 or higher.
If seeking privileges in specialized areas (e.g., child & adolescent, geriatric, addiction, etc.) completion of an accredited fellowship in the respective field.
Prior experience in psychiatric practice within specialty within the past two years. New grads: Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency and/or fellowship satisfies this requirement. Current Residents or Fellows: In at least the 6th month of the PGY-3 or higher, and in the process of completing an accredited psychiatry residency or fellowship program satisfies this requirement.
