Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 – $2,370

Location: Albany, NY 12208 (Capital District; Albany healthcare jobs)

Employment Type: Travel Contract (Travel Nurse / Travel RN)

Duration: 13 weeks (May 26, 2026 – July 15, 2026)

Shift: 12-hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) — Night shift PCU nurse role

Hours per Week: 36

Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs required

EMR: Epic experience required (Epic EMR proficiency for clinical documentation)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (New York license preferred; candidates with pending state licenses will be reviewed)

Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or ICU experience caring for adult populations (progressive care nurse, step-down, or critical care experience preferred)

ACLS certification required

Competency in advanced hemodynamics, pressor titration protocols, antihypertensive drips, sedative and naloxone (Narcan) drips, and thrombo-embolic management

Experience with arterial line (A-line), CVP monitoring, EVD care, ortho traction care, and infection prevention protocols

Experience with HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and oxygen delivery systems

Competency test required within 24 hours of submission (sent via candidate's email)

Epic EMR proficiency for accurate clinical documentation and communication with interdisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality progressive care nursing for medically delicate and surgically complex adult patients (respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, complex trauma, surgical complications)

Manage an average assignment of 3 high-acuity patients as a PCU/step-down nurse

Administer and titrate critical drips and medications per protocol, including vasoactive and sedative agents

Monitor and interpret advanced hemodynamic parameters to guide bedside interventions

Implement and maintain infection prevention protocols and ensure patient safety at all times

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy) to coordinate patient-centered care

Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly using Epic EMR
