Schedule:
Flexible, ~10–20 hours/week (mornings, evenings, occasional weekends)
Start Date:
ASAP
Children:
Primarily care for 3-year-old (older siblings ages 6 & 9 in Waldorf school)
A warm, nature-loving family in Vallejo is seeking a kind, grounded, and flexible caregiver to support our home on a part-time basis. We value a collaborative, respectful dynamic and are looking for someone who appreciates rhythm, simplicity, and connection in daily life.
Our two older children attend a Waldorf school, and we are hoping to create a nurturing, Waldorf-inspired environment for our youngest as he grows toward kindergarten.
About Our Child
Our almost 3-year-old son is:
Active, joyful, and deeply engaged with the natural world
Loves water play, being outdoors, and hands-on exploration
Neurodivergent (autism), and benefits from a calm, patient, and attuned caregiver
Experience with autistic children is a strong plus, though openness and willingness to learn are equally valued.
Our Home & Care Approach
Waldorf-inspired, screen‑free (or very minimal screen use) environment
Emphasis on rhythm, presence, and child‑led play
Gentle, respectful parenting
Dad is a stay‑at‑home parent and will often be present, using this time for home projects, rest, or personal care. This role will be a blend of collaborative support and, over time, more independent care as our child builds comfort and trust.
Responsibilities
Attentive, engaged childcare
Preparing simple meals/snacks for the child
Light tidying related to childcare and shared spaces
Supporting a calm, harmonious home rhythm
Care will take place outside of nap times (primarily mornings and evenings).
Ideal Candidate
Warm, dependable, and adaptable
Comfortable with a flexible, changing schedule
Enjoys being outdoors and engaging in simple, meaningful play
Familiarity with or appreciation for Waldorf philosophy
Experience with toddlers (experience with autistic children is a plus)
Non-smoker
Compensation (Tiered Based on Experience)
We welcome candidates across a range of experience levels and have structured compensation accordingly:
