
Facilities / Maintenance Technician

Description
The Facilities Technician will serve as a key member of the maintenance team with a primary focus on maintaining, troubleshooting issues, and repairing of mechanical and electrical issues. Primary focus on HVAC troubleshooting and repair is required. Role will trouble shoot the electrical side of essential company equipment as well as make industrial refrigeration repairs. Additionally, tasks will be assigned daily to maintain campus grounds and assist facility team members with various projects.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Troubleshoot and maintain fleet of HVAC units across campus
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems and replace or repair parts.
Proactively perform regular preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment and facilities.
Collect, analyze and summarize maintenance related information and trends to drive efficiencies, streamline processes and support business decisions.
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education and Training
Certification or Associates Degree or equivalent work experience in commercial HVAC systems
Mechanical trade based experience
Knowledge and skills
Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and commercial HVAC systems
Willingness to assist in additional facilities areas as needed
Strong ability to work independently and as a team
Strong analytical problem-solving skills
Service oriented attitude
Self-motivated
Able to maintain focus on key objectives
Basic computer knowledge
Experience
Prior experience in commercial HVAC systems
Experience in working with compressors, low voltage, and leak repairs.
Ability to read and understand complex electrical, mechanical and automation system
Experience repairing HVAC units preferred
Physical Requirements
Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment
Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the phone and in group setting
Ability to stand for extended periods of time (6 or more hours)
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
Sufficient physical dexterity to walk, bend, stoop or squat
Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities
Must be able to access all parts of the company equipment
Ability to operate company vehicles as necessary
Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions
