Maintenance Technician – Aseptic
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment uptime through timely, in-depth troubleshooting and repair. The Technician performs troubleshooting and repair of all production equipment, including injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers, as well as facilities and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, Reverse Osmosis, and other water filtration equipment. The role works directly with machine operators, supervisors, preventative maintenance mechanics, and senior maintenance technicians to resolve mechanical issues and proposes solutions for recurring problems.
Essential Functions
Use schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Repair equipment, fixtures, systems, conveyors, and other facility equipment.
Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment in accordance with Niagara’s defined processes.
Maintain industrial control systems.
Work independently and with other team members to complete repairs safely and efficiently.
Fill in for production operators as needed.
Create and report repairs throughout the shift; complete required work‑order paperwork and document parts and material usage.
Understand and follow plant safety rules, including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation.
Use personal protective equipment where required.
Ensure regular and predictable attendance to maintain equipment and facility uptime.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
4 years of experience in field or similar maintenance environment.
4 years of experience in a maintenance position.
4 years of experience managing people or projects.
Experience may include a combination of work experience and education.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and resolve issues across multiple departments.
Basic experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill and lathe, and assorted power tools.
Proficient with precision measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, depth gauges).
Willingness to serve as a technical leader and trainer in a specific plant or machine center area.
Will need own toolbox and basic tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
6 years of experience in field or similar manufacturing environment.
6 years of experience working in a maintenance position.
6 years of experience managing people or projects.
Experience in high‑speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries.
Experience with Variable Frequency Drives, servo drives, and servo motors; rotary equipment such as rotary press or filler; thermodynamics, heat transfer, or plastics processing.
Experience with Krones, Sidel, or Husky equipment; HVAC including chillers and/or air compressors.
Skilled in fabrication capabilities such as cutting and welding (MIG, TIG or stick).
Skilled working with electrical systems including 480 VAC & 24 VDC power.
Ability to read and interpret process and instrumentation diagrams.
Experienced in repairing VFDs, servo motors and controllers, communication systems (ASI‑Bus, CAN‑Bus, Profi‑Bus, Ethernet), PLC input/output cards, and safety modules.
