What you’ll need to succeed as a Supervisor, Payroll at XPO
Minimum qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
3 years of experience in a large, multi-state, multi-national payroll department
Demonstrate advanced understanding of payroll processes, procedures, controls and regulatory compliance requirements
Experience with case management applications, (i.e. Service Now)
Specialized systems experience pertinent to the team/position (i.e. UKG
Experience with Microsoft tools and applications
Preferred qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or a related field
MS or MBA
In-house payroll experience including garnishment processing
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in SuccessFactors EC and ECP

What you’ll do on a typical day:
Oversee and perform tasks related to the analysis, processing and execution of payroll for the US and Canada within SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
Identify, design and implement automation initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency and scalability across payroll operations.
Lead the payroll processing team, overseeing the accurate and timely processing of payroll.
Oversee the withholding and disbursements of both voluntary and involuntary payroll deductions (i.e. garnishments)
Oversee payroll banking activities, ensuring timely resolution of positive pay exceptions, approval of payroll disbursements, finance reporting, and investigation and resolution of finance related exceptions.
Perform and review periodic SOX control testing, ensuring timely completion and accurate documentation of evidence.
Manage external vendors such as PayActiv, YMCA, and Wisely.
Define configuration requirements and perform user acceptance testing for payroll & UKG system enhancements.
Coordinate SNOW case assignments, enforce standards and serve as primary escalation point for the payroll team.
Serve as subject matter expert for cross-functional projects involving new services and enhancements that impact payroll.
Review and conclude (accept/decline) on system access requests.
Provide coaching, mentoring and career development for payroll team members; foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
