
Human Resources Specialist

We’re hiring an HR Specialist to help support and strengthen our team! This role plays a key part in creating a consistent, high-quality employee experience, from onboarding and employee relations to leave administration and day‑to‑day HR support. We’re looking for someone who is approachable, dependable, and takes pride in their work, while also understanding the importance of speed, accuracy, and teamwork.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and update employee records within HRIS (ADP) ensuring accuracy and compliance
Bi‑weekly payroll processing for ~150 employees, including audits, data entry, and coordination with HR Director
Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless employee experience
Administer benefits support including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries
Assist employees with day‑to‑day HR requests (PTO, status changes, documentation, etc.)
Administer all leave programs including FMLA, ADA accommodations, short‑term disability, and applicable state leaves
Manage the full leave lifecycle: intake, eligibility determination, required documentation, tracking, and return‑to‑work coordination
Coordinate with third‑party administrators and benefits providers as needed
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple states
Maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates
Support I‑9 compliance, audits, and documentation requirements
Assist in safety and incident reporting processes, ensuring timely completion and documentation
Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits, claims, and investigations
Support recruiting efforts for office and administrative roles, including job postings and coordination
Assist with new hire onboarding plans and early‑stage employee support
Support performance review cycles, including coordination and tracking of completion
Assist in implementing HR programs tied to employee engagement and development
Reinforce company values and expectations through daily interactions and HR processes
Support performance management processes, including documentation, coaching conversations, and corrective actions
Assist in conducting workplace investigations and documenting outcomes
Support and coordinate employee engagement efforts, including team‑building activities, company events, and recognition initiatives
Support the rollout and execution of any HR initiatives and projects aligned with organizational goals
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
3–5 years of HR experience with similar responsibilities required
Experience administering leave programs (FMLA, ADA, STD, etc.) preferred
Experience with HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now Next Gen preferred)
1 year of Payroll experience preferred
Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
Preferred Skills:

Judgment and Discretion: Handles sensitive situations with professionalism and sound decision‑making
