Job Summary
The Graduate Assistant for Newnan Student Services supports the daily operations, administrative functions, student engagement programs, and Newnan Testing Services at the Newnan Campus. This position serves as a professional representative of the University and requires strong organizational skills, independent judgment, advanced communication abilities, and a commitment to student success. The GA plays a leadership role in managing office workflows, assisting students, parents, and prospective students, and ensuring the smooth execution of testing and student engagement initiatives. The position requires discretion, professionalism, and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
Student Services & Administrative Support (45%)
Respond to student, parent, and prospective student inquiries via email, phone, and in person regarding admissions, enrollment, and University processes
Assist with the collection, review, and processing of documentation for Admissions, Financial Aid, Health Services, and other University departments, maintaining strict confidentiality
Support oversight of daily office operations, including scheduling, workflow management, and record‑keeping
Track student engagement and attendance, including entering participation numbers into Wolf Connect accurately and in a timely manner
Maintain a professional, welcoming, and organized office environment
Event Planning & Marketing (35%)
Plan, coordinate, and execute weekly student engagement events aligned with campus initiatives
Develop marketing materials, including flyers and digital content using Canva or similar design platforms
Support social media campaigns and other outreach efforts to increase student engagement
Assist with event logistics, setup, serving during events, and post‑event reporting
Newnan Testing Services Support (20%)
Assist with administering and proctoring exams in accordance with University testing policies
Assist with checking students in for scheduled testing appointments and verifying identification
Assist with monitoring testing sessions to ensure students do not access unauthorized materials or information
Assist with maintaining a secure and distraction‑free testing environment
Assist with reporting testing irregularities or issues to appropriate staff
Newnan Student Services
Location: Newnan Campus, 80 Jackson Street, Newnan, GA 30263
Work Format: In‑Person Position (No Remote Work Available)
Start Date: August 2026 (Employment will not begin until eligibility for the assistantship is confirmed.)
Required Qualifications
Have earned a bachelor's degree
Be fully admitted (not provisionally) to a graduate degree program at the University of West Georgia
Be enrolled full‑time in a graduate program of study
Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in previous and current graduate coursework
Meet all eligibility requirements for employment in the United States
Must be available to work 20 hours per week, consisting of two (2) 8‑hour shifts and one (1) 4‑hour shift within a three‑day work week. Scheduled hours will fall between Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with event planning, student engagement, or campus programming
Proficiency in Canva or similar design platforms
Familiarity with university admissions, financial aid, and student services processes
Experience with scheduling systems, reporting tools, or student information systems
Fully online student preferred with flexibility to adjust schedule to support student engagement programs and office needs
Proposed Salary
A monthly stipend of $1000.00 per month
A tuition waiver, reducing your graduate tuition to $25 per semester plus mandatory fees as long as you are employed in your assistantship.

This position is based at the UWG Newnan Campus in Newnan, GA. Applicants must be able to work a flexible 20‑hour schedule each week, which includes two (2) 8‑hour shifts and one (1) 4‑hour shift over three days. All scheduled hours will take place Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
