Gursey | Schneider seeks a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to contribute to the litigation department. This position focuses on high-net-worth clients and business owners in all financial aspects of the marital dissolution process and allows for professional growth.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other business-related fields
CPA Designation
Minimum Qualifications
Licensed California Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with at least two to three years of recent audit, accounting, or tax experience at a top-100 public accounting firm
Must possess exceptional abilities in both written and oral communication
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and related applications
Responsibilities
Analyze financial records to ensure accurate transaction recording, account reconciliation, and asset assessments, and identify and manage discrepancies in settlements or support obligations
Tracing separate property assets
Analyze gross cash flow available for child and spousal support and the marital standard of living
Conduct business valuations
Apportion real estate and equity compensation (such as stock options, restricted stock units, carried interest, etc.)
Prepare various types of declarations for court proceedings
Account for transactions occurring post-separation and analyze their impact on the community estate
Prepare deposition questions for financial and party witnesses and assist counsel during deposition
Assist partners in preparation for settlement conferences
Prepare work papers and exhibits for court hearings
Travel to court with partner cases to gain experience and learn about serving as potential testifying expert witnesses
Attend and participate in settlement conferences, assisting clients in resolving their dissolution cases
