
Regrind/ Forklift Operator Night Shift

Job Description
Operates and maintains forklift to supply production operations with raw materials for finished product, transfers finished product to storage or staging area, and ensures finished product is loaded onto trucks timely to meet customer delivery requirements.
Responsibilities
Operates and maintains forklift in a safe and efficient manner using work instructions, visual management and computer interface.
Supplies production operations with raw materials to produce finished product.
Prints and scans Bill of Lading for all finished goods using computer interface and RF scanner.
Inspects finished goods for quality defects.
Transfers finished goods to staging or storage areas.
Loads finished goods onto trucks in a timely manner to meet customer delivery requirements.
Accurately completes all written logs and data input to include closing sequences on tickets and printing Bill of Lading.
Ensures accurate inventory counts and notifies lead/supervisor of discrepancies.
Effectively communicates with all internal departments.
Removes or reworks any damaged product on pallets.
Maintains a clean work area and performs general housekeeping duties.
Follows all HACCP, GMP and product safety rules and guidelines.
Trains current and new members of the department to perform job related tasks as needed.
Learn new on‑the‑job skills as training opportunities become available.

Education
High School diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
A valid driver’s license and forklift certification are required. The forklift certification must meet OSHA requirements and is required to perform the essential duties of this job.
Physical Demands
The employee is frequently required to stand or walk for up to 12 hours, sit for up to 12 hours, reach with hands and arms, communicate with other employees, be aware of sounds in the plant, and lift or move up to 70 pounds.
Work Environment
Job is performed near moving mechanical parts and occasionally outdoors. Safety glasses and hearing protection required.
