Medical Scheduler
Location: Clayton, Alabama, USA – Ventress Correctional Facility.

Responsibilities
Scheduling various medical appointments, including on‑site clinic visits and off‑site specialist appointments, as recommended by medical staff.
Maintaining accurate and confidential medical records, including entering consultation requests into the system and managing patient information.
Arranging transportation for inmates to and from appointments, ensuring timely and secure transfers.
Effectively communicating with healthcare staff, patients, and other relevant parties regarding appointments, scheduling changes, and other medical information.
Adhering to all relevant security protocols, confidentiality standards, and HIPAA regulations.
Utilizing computer systems for scheduling, data entry, and report generation, often handling large volumes of data.
Additional duties and specific projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
Prior training in a medical office setting, scheduling medical appointments and working with medical records preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology and various types of medical specialties.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to stressful environments.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary and/or confidential information and to comply with all facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening.
