Role Description
This is a full-time on-site position based in Stroudsburg, PA, for a County Detective / Police Officer in the Criminal Investigations Division at the Monroe County Office of the District Attorney. County Detectives are sworn police officers under Pennsylvania law, carry firearms, and are tasked with the enforcement of the law; the detection and investigation of criminal activity; the apprehension, arrest, and prosecution of criminal offenders; and the preservation of public order. The role involves conducting complex criminal investigations, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, supporting prosecutions, and collaborating closely with other law enforcement agencies. The position also requires maintaining comprehensive case records, testifying in court, and ensuring enforcement compliance with federal, state, and local laws and policies.
Salary and Benefits
Starting salary of $57,532 to $69,846, depending on experience
Annual increases to $88,025 under current collective bargaining agreement

Qualifications
Experience as a police officer or in law enforcement roles preferred
Skills in criminal investigations and evidence handling
Knowledge of applicable laws and legal practices, with an understanding of prosecutorial procedures
Expertise in conducting police investigations, including interviews, surveillance, and coordinating with inter-agency operations
Strong decision-making, analytical, and communication abilities
Ability to work on-site and participate in court proceedings when necessary
Relevant certifications, such as police training academy completion, are a plus
