The Painter is primarily responsible for prepping and processing materials through the FMC Backshop in Tulsa, OK.
What You Will Do
Clean and prepare surfaces prior to layering paint
Mix coatings per manufacturer specification
Prep and mask items as needed for blast and paint (taping, plugging holes, blowing the items with an air gun, etc.)
Run wash bay and blast booth to support production
Perform required maintenance on paint equipment
Safely load and move materials to work and drying areas by industrial forklift, overhead cranes, and by pulling loaded parts racks
Maintain painting equipment in good working condition by cleaning paint guns and paint pots after each use
Safely dispose of chemical waste
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Log paint usage daily
Apply each coat as a continuous film of uniform thickness free of runs, drips, overspray, etc., to the maximum extent practical
Utilize special safety equipment such as respirator hood
Other duties as assigned

What You Need
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
1 year of experience in paint, wash and blast or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience using a conventional pressure paint pot
Ability to paint various sized items and touch up as necessary
Familiarity with spraying organic zinc rich primer, epoxy, and polyurethane
Proficiency at troubleshooting common problems without assistance
Willingness to work overtime
Ability to work alone for extended periods with little oversight
Ability to understand and apply detailed written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Must be located in or willing to relocate to Tulsa, OK
