Job Description
As an Instructional Designer with the University of Florida Human Resources, you will influence how a top‑tier university learns, adapts, and performs. You will collaborate with senior leaders, subject matter experts, and HR partners to design innovative, evidence‑based learning experiences that drive measurable impact across the organization.

You Will
Design and develop engaging, scalable learning experiences across multiple modalities
Partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders to translate business needs into learning strategies
Create high‑quality digital content including eLearning, instructor‑led materials, job aids, and multimedia assets
Apply instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to drive measurable outcomes
Evaluate program effectiveness and continuously improve based on data and feedback
Learning Strategy & Design
Conduct needs assessments to identify performance gaps and recommend solutions
Design visually compelling, learner‑centered content that enhances engagement and retention
Develop end‑to‑end learning experiences using tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, and multimedia platforms
Ensure alignment with organizational goals and measurable business outcomes
Project & Program Management
Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables
Support implementation of system‑wide learning initiatives and programs
Develop rapid, high‑quality content in fast‑paced environments
Collaboration & Consultation
Partner with leaders, HR teams, and SMEs to co‑create impactful learning solutions
Facilitate training sessions and workshops for faculty and staff
Translate complex processes into clear, actionable learning experiences
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Stay current with emerging trends in instructional design and workplace learning
Engage leading technologies and approaches to enhance learning effectiveness
Evaluate learning impact and refine programs to maximize ROI
Deliver phased outputs on aggressive timelines
Qualifications
Master’s degree in an appropriate field and two years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience (Instructional Designer II)
Master’s degree and four years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree and six years of relevant experience (Instructional Designer III)
Demonstrated experience running complex, large‑scale programs such as GBAS or RAFT
Proven ability to lead instructional design projects from needs analysis through implementation and evaluation
Digital portfolio including at least one Rise course
Advanced experience designing and developing eLearning, instructor‑led, blended, and microlearning solutions
Strong consultation skills and ability to translate business needs into effective strategies
Experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously
Proficiency with rapid development tools and multimedia assets (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva)
Ability to evaluate program effectiveness and align learning solutions with organizational goals
Experience using Articulate Storyline and Rise
Strong collaboration skills with subject matter experts and stakeholders
Ability to apply instructional design methodologies and evaluate learning effectiveness
