JOB SUMMARY
The Community & Entrepreneur Engagement Coordinator serves as the primary external‑facing representative of Saint Louis University’s Habitat for Neighborhood Business (SLU‑HNB). This role is responsible for building trust within under‑resourced neighborhoods, engaging aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, developing partnerships, and ensuring that entrepreneurs feel supported, heard, and well‑served throughout their participation in SLU‑HNB programs.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Advances SLU‑HNB's mission by actively engaging in under‑resourced neighborhoods and strengthening community relationships

Conducts outreach to identify aspiring and existing entrepreneurs for participation in SLU‑HNB programs

Serves as the primary point of contact for SLU‑HNB entrepreneurs, ensuring consistent communication and engagement

Regularly verifies and documents entrepreneur satisfaction, expectations, and program impact

Supports entrepreneur onboarding and assessment in collaboration with the Operations & Program Coordination Manager

Maintains a visible presence in the community and at events to strengthen trust and awareness of SLU‑HNB

Recruits, engages, and retains volunteer

Attends evening and weekend community meetings and events as required

Represents HNB in meetings, presentations, and speaking engagements

Performs other duties as assigned

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

Strong project management skills

Strong relationship building skills

Strong professional and organizational skills

Proven ability to build trust and relationships in diverse and under‑resourced communities

Experience in community engagement, outreach, or small business support

Networking and partnership‑building skills, particularly with entrepreneurs and non‑profits

Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with internal team members

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's degree

Marketing, fundraising, or public relations experience

Experience working with Universities
