
Maintenance Technician - Aerospace Facility

Position Summary
With limited guidance in a team environment, responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks of a semi-complex scope and nature in one or more of the following areas: plumbing, carpentry, painting, air conditioning, and general equipment.
Essential Functions
Remove, repair or relocate machine parts; install air & water lines; align and adjust machines for production operation.
Troubleshoot electrical, plumbing, hydraulic and mechanical equipment for proper operation both in production and non-production areas.
Construct, install, maintain, repair and overhaul test stands, fixtures and related equipment.
Perform high pressure tubing and hose fabrication for hydraulic and pneumatic application and contamination control.
Plan, lay out, and construct additions, partitions, benches, shipping boxes and other carpentry.
Assist in planning sequence of operations and methods to be used in overhaul and repair.
Check and calibrate new or rebuilt equipment after installation.
Active participation on the safety team and be proactive in maintaining a safe work environment in the facility.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and five or more years of related maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Industrial electrical knowledge, including familiarity with National Electrical Code; formal training certificate preferred.
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum systems, pumps, electric motors and flow test stands.
Experience in electronics (e.g., circuit boards and power sources) preferred.
Experience in repair and maintenance of facility systems (e.g., HVAC, compressed air systems, fire suppression).
Ability to work from blueprints and sketches.
Working knowledge of computers and software to operate programs and create reports and spreadsheets.
Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work with others and be a participative team player.
Requirement to lift up to 50 pounds.
May require forklift operator certificate, Hazardous Material Handling Certificate and other certifications as applicable.
Three years related maintenance experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities, with familiarity with pump and valve overhaul procedures and aerospace associated equipment.
Knowledge of general hydraulics technology, pumps, cylinders, accumulators, filters, piping, tube bending, piping fabrication for hydraulic and pneumatic applications, chemicals and their characteristics.
