About the Role
We're looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support day-to-day purchasing operations. This is a long‑term opportunity with a stable, well‑established company. In this role, you'll work independently in the office while partnering closely with the Shop Superintendent to ensure materials and supplies are ordered accurately and delivered on time. What You'll Do
Request and compare vendor quotes to ensure competitive pricing and availability
Prepare and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently
Code purchase orders for proper tracking and accounting
Place orders for materials, supplies, and equipment
Track deliveries and follow up with vendors on timing or discrepancies
Assist with coordinating truck schedules and deliveries
Communicate with internal teams to confirm material needs and timelines
Maintain organized procurement and purchasing records
What We're Looking For
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous purchasing or procurement experience preferred
Strong organizational and time‑management skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and stay on top of multiple tasks
Reliable, punctual, and consistent with follow‑through
Comfortable working with a variety of personalities in a professional office environment
Work Environment
In‑office position, working independently
Regular coordination with shop leadership and internal teams
Structured, day‑shift schedule with no overtime
Office setting within an industrial/construction‑related business
