Overview

ERISA / Employee Benefits Attorney (ESOP / Retirement Plans / Compliance) – 2–10 Years
Locations: Des Moines, IA; Cedar Rapids, IA; Ames, IA
Compensation: $160,000 – $225,000 + equity
Work Model: Hybrid (1–2 weeks/month in office)
Bar Admission: Active bar admission required
Who This Role Is For

This is a law firm attorney role focused on ERISA and employee benefits law.
Be a licensed attorney (JD required)
Have 2–10 years of ERISA or employee benefits experience
Have Experience Advising On Retirement Plans Or ESOPs
This role is not suitable for:
General corporate attorneys without ERISA experience
Litigators without benefits exposure
Candidates without compliance or advisory experience
About The Opportunity

We are working with a law firm seeking an ERISA / Employee Benefits Attorney to join an established practice with a clear succession path and the opportunity to inherit a significant book of business.
What You’ll Be Doing

Draft and amend retirement and benefits plans (ESOPs, 401(k), profit-sharing)
Advise clients on ERISA compliance and fiduciary duties
Support M&A transactions with benefits due diligence
Build client relationships with long-term leadership potential
What We’re Looking For

2–10 Years Of ERISA Or Employee Benefits Experience
Strong drafting and advisory skills
Experience with retirement plans or ESOPs
Interest in long-term practice growth
