About the Role
The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager or Assistant Manager and provides operational and medical support for plasma center operations, ensuring donor eligibility, safety, and regulatory compliance.
How You Will Contribute
Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis results.
Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies following SOPs, including coordination with Center Physician and donor transport.
Refer findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical or technical issues concerning donor safety and eligibility.
Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health or ER, following EHS guidance.
Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
What You Bring to Takeda
High school diploma or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program meeting state requirements.
Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities are assigned (LPN or LVN).
Current CPR and AED certification.
Completion of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
Successful completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
Compensation and Benefits
Hourly wage range in the United States: $26.88 – $36.96. Benefits include medical, dental,, vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time per year, and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
