Ochsner Health seeks an RN who exemplifies the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. The RN delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members, assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes, and maintains sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.
Schedule
3 12-hr shifts per week: 6:45 PM-7:15 AM; rotating weekends
Education
Required – Registered Nurse Diploma
Preferred – Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Work Experience
Required – None
Certifications
Required – Current RN License in the state of practice
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
Preferred – Certification in clinical specialty area
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval.
Effective verbal and written communication; ability to present information clearly and professionally.
Proficiency with Windows-style applications and related software packages.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Good organizational and time-management skills; self-directed.
Demonstrates good judgment.
Job Duties
Effectively uses the Nursing Process in patient care delivery.
Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of patients, families, and other disciplines.
Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources, serving as a leader and partner on the Interdisciplinary Team.
Utilizes data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes.
Embraces concepts that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and nursing professional improvement.
Adapts behavior to the patient population, respecting privacy and tailoring communication.
Other related duties as required.
Physical and Environmental Demands
Includes lifting up to 50–100 pounds occasionally, 25–50 pounds frequently, and/or 10–20 pounds constantly. Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, hazardous medications, and contaminated waste. Requires standing, walking, and patient care activities.
