Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in the emergency department, including rapid assessment and triage of patients with acute conditions
Monitor patient status, administer medications, start IVs, and assist with emergent procedures as needed
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other members of the care team; document care and patient responses in the electronic health record
Prioritize patient safety, maintain infection control standards, and communicate effectively with patients and families during high-stress situations
Prepare patients for diagnostic testing and treatment, including coordination of imaging and procedures as indicated
Demonstrate adaptability to a fast-paced emergency setting and respond to changes in patient condition with critical thinking and decisive action
Requirements
Active registered nurse (RN) license; state may be required for practice
Ability to work weekend day shifts with 12-hour coverage (5:00 AM–5:00 PM)
ER nursing experience or demonstrated competency in acute care settings
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Commitment to maintaining patient safety, accuracy in documentation, and teamwork in a high-acuity environment
Willingness to complete credentialing and standard background checks as part of the assignment process
