Position Overview
Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field, with coursework in safety fundamentals, hazard identification, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, chemical safety, or risk assessment. They should have basic knowledge of PPE, SDSs, hazard communication, incident and near miss reporting, workplace inspections, corrective action tracking, and be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
The intern will support site EHS operations through safety inspections and compliance activities (30%), incident and near miss tracking and trend analysis (25%), training coordination and safety communications (20%), environmental and regulatory documentation support (15%), and improvement projects such as reporting, data analysis, and process enhancements (10%).
The intern will primarily support investigations, audits, training records, CAPA follow‑up, SDS and chemical documentation, and safety reporting, while owning assigned tracking, analysis, and administrative project tasks under EHS team guidance.
What You’ll Gain
The intern will gain hands‑on exposure to manufacturing and site EHS operations, including safety walkthroughs, hazard identification, incident and near miss review, corrective action follow‑up, training coordination, and environmental or compliance documentation, while also working cross‑functionally with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, and site leadership.
They will receive direct coaching and regular check‑ins from their manager, participate in mid‑summer feedback discussions, and gain broader business exposure through internship huddles, professional development workshops, and the “Spotlight on Amneal” speaker series featuring functional leaders.
By the end of the program, the intern will also develop presentation and communication skills through a final presentation on their work, findings, and recommendations.
Education
High School diploma or GED—Required
Current full‑time enrollment in an accredited college or university undergraduate or graduate program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field—Required
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0—Required
Additional Requirements
Must be at least 18 years old
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must commit to the full duration of the internship (all interns must start no later than June 1, 2026 - August 28, 2026.)
Benefits
Amneal offers paid internships, with rates starting at $20/hr. The rates are fixed based on the years of undergraduate/graduate schooling completed as of the start of the program. Specific details on hourly rate will be disclosed to you by the recruiter if selected for screening and further consideration. Amneal ranges reflect the Company’s good faith estimate of wages that Amneal reasonably believes that it will pay for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors, including but not limited to, qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills.
