Atrium is seeking on behalf of our client an Associate Designer - Men's based in New York, NY.

Employment Type: Full-time

Compensation: 75,000–80,000

Position Overview
The Associate Designer - Men's will support the design team in developing seasonal menswear collections from concept through production. This role collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure designs are innovative, trend‑right, and commercially viable. The position requires strong technical skills and creativity to deliver high‑quality products on time. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Support the design team in creating seasonal menswear collections, including concept development, sketches, and tech packs.

Collaborate with product development, merchandising, and sourcing teams to ensure designs are production‑ready.

Conduct trend research and assist in material selection to keep collections fresh, relevant, and commercially appealing.

Contribute creatively to the team while meeting deadlines and maintaining high‑quality standards.

Assist in preparing presentation boards and line sheets for internal and external meetings.

Maintain organized design files and ensure accurate updates throughout the development process.

Required Experience / Skills

2+ years of professional design experience in men’s apparel.

Strong technical skills including sketching, CAD, and garment construction.

Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.

Experience working on menswear collections from concept to production.

Preferred Experience / Skills

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and PLM systems.

Knowledge of fabrications, trims, and embellishment techniques for men’s apparel.

Strong understanding of market trends and consumer preferences in menswear.

Ability to present design concepts clearly to internal teams and external partners.

Familiarity with fit processes and garment specifications.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field preferred.

Coursework or certifications in men’s apparel design is a plus.

Continuing education in trend forecasting or CAD software is advantageous.
