Summary
Denver Trial Lawyers, an established mid-sized plaintiff’s firm located in the Denver Tech Center, is seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented litigation paralegal to support a complex caseload. This position will primarily support attorneys in medical malpractice litigation, with opportunities to assist attorneys in other practice areas as needed. The ideal candidate will be litigation-focused, highly organized, and comfortable managing substantive case responsibilities in a dynamic litigation practice. Key Responsibilities

Draft, revise, and prepare litigation documents, including pleadings, disclosures, written discovery, motions, subpoenas, notices, and legal correspondence in accordance with applicable federal and state rules of civil procedure.

Conduct legal and factual research using legal research databases and public records sources; prepare summaries, timelines, and memoranda for attorney reviews.

Assist attorneys with all phases of civil litigation, from case inception through resolution, including case development, discovery management, and trial preparation.

Review, analyze, and organize large volumes of medical records, discovery productions, and evidentiary materials to assist attorneys in case evaluation, deposition preparation, and trial strategy.

Prepare and issue subpoenas and authorizations for the collection of medical records, billing records, and other healthcare documentation; ensure compliance with HIPAA and other applicable privacy regulations.

Coordinate with medical professionals and other subject‑matter experts to serve as expert witnesses, including assisting with expert disclosures and maintaining compliance with Rule 26 requirements.

Support preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial by organizing exhibits, preparing witness and expert files, assembling trial notebooks, and coordinating logistics.

Maintain and monitor litigation calendars to track court deadlines, scheduling orders, expert disclosure deadlines, and statutes of limitation.

Manage and maintain electronic and physical case files within the firm’s document management and case management systems, ensuring accurate organization and accessibility of case materials.

Serve as a point of contact for clients, courts, opposing counsel, experts, and vendors, maintaining professional communications and coordinating scheduling when necessary.

Provide litigation and administrative support to multiple attorneys and practice groups within a collaborative mid-size firm environment, managing competing priorities and deadlines.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Minimum of four (4) years of experience supporting attorneys in medical malpractice plaintiff litigation or a closely related complex civil litigation practice.

Paralegal certificate, associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and relevant litigation experience preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal court procedures, rules of civil procedure, discovery obligations, and familiarity with medical and legal terminology commonly used in healthcare-related litigation.

Proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage assignments with minimal supervision in a deadline-driven environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional legal correspondence and effectively communicate with attorneys, clients, experts, and court personnel.

Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines across several active matters.

Experience reviewing and managing large volumes of medical records, discovery productions, and complex case materials.

Proficiency with electronic filing systems (state and federal), document management platforms, and legal case management software, as well as Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools.
