Financial Administrator Position Type: Full-Time School Year: 2026–2027
Overview
The Financial Administrator is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of First Baptist Ruskin / Ruskin Christian School with integrity, accuracy, and transparency. This role supports the mission and vision of the church and school by ensuring responsible stewardship of financial resources, maintaining sound accounting practices, and providing clear financial reporting that supports strategic decision-making and long-term sustainability.
Mission Alignment

The Financial Administrator serves as a steward of the ministry’s financial resources and demonstrates Christ-like character in all interactions with students, families, staff, leadership, and community members.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
Develop and manage the annual operating budget in collaboration with the Ministry Administrator
Monitor revenues and expenditures to ensure alignment with the approved budget
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for administration and Board review
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Manage tuition billing, payment plans, and financial recordkeeping
Maintain accurate general ledger and supporting financial documentation
Accounting & Compliance
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations
Oversee payroll processing and related reporting requirements
Coordinate annual audits or financial reviews
Maintain proper internal controls and financial procedures
Oversee required filings and documentation related to nonprofit status (if applicable)
Maintain insurance documentation and financial compliance records
Maintain compliance, records and documentation for required Step Up for Students and FLDOE
Communication & Collaboration
Provide financial insight and forecasting to support strategic planning
Collaborate with administration regarding financial policies and procedures
Communicate professionally and clearly with families regarding tuition and billing matters
Participate in leadership meetings and school events as appropriate
Professional Responsibilities
Maintain confidentiality regarding financial, personnel, and student information
Uphold school policies, procedures, and ethical financial practices
Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional and spiritual growth
Ensure organized, accurate, and timely financial processes
Qualifications
Required
A personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with the ministry’s Statement of Faith
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting or financial management experience
Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, and accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail
Preferred
Experience in a school, church, or nonprofit setting
CPA or other relevant financial certification
Familiarity with tuition management systems
