Facilities Team Member Position Type: Full-Time School Year: 2026–2027 Reports To: Facilities Director
Position Overview
The Facilities Team Member is responsible for supporting the daily maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of Ruskin Christian School and First Baptist Ruskin facilities. This role ensures that classrooms, offices, worship spaces, and outdoor areas are well-maintained, safe, and prepared for school and church activities. The Facilities Team Member contributes to a positive and welcoming environment that supports the mission of Christian education and ministry.

The Facilities Team Member serves with excellence and integrity, demonstrating Christ-like character in interactions with students, families, staff, church members, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Custodial & Cleaning Responsibilities
Perform routine cleaning and custodial duties in classrooms, offices, restrooms, gymnasium, worship areas, and common spaces
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout campus facilities
Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies safely and appropriately
Maintenance & Repairs
Assist with minor repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, and general construction tasks as directed
Support furniture moving, classroom setup, and event setup/teardown
Monitor facilities and report maintenance needs or safety concerns to the Facilities Director
Grounds & Campus Care
Maintain outdoor areas including parking lots, walkways, playgrounds, and landscaped spaces
Assist with general campus upkeep to ensure a safe and welcoming environment
Event & Ministry Support
Prepare facilities, equipment, and spaces for school and church events
Collaborate with school and church staff to ensure facility readiness for programs and activities
Work occasional evenings or weekends as needed for special events
Professional Responsibilities
Comply with health, safety, and security standards
Maintain a cooperative and service-oriented attitude
Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and strong work ethic
Work independently and as part of a team to meet campus needs
Qualifications
Qualifications Required
A personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with the ministry’s Statement of Faith
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks on a routine basis
Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment, tools, and safety procedures
Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and collaboratively
Preferred
Previous custodial, facilities, or maintenance experience
Experience in a school or church environment
General knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or construction maintenance tasks
Desired Characteristics
Commitment to serving in a Christ-centered ministry environment
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Positive, service-oriented attitude
Flexible and willing to assist where needed
