Overview
Housing and Residence Life at Georgia Tech supports the residential student experience. This role performs basic multi-craft maintenance and repairs of equipment and buildings, including electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, and basic construction and fabrication work.
Job Summary
Perform a variety of basic multi-craft tasks in general maintenance and repairs of equipment and buildings, including the installation, repair, and replacement of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. Perform building-related basic construction and fabrication work.
Responsibilities
Interact on a consistent basis with area maintenance staff and contractors.
Perform basic installation, repair, and replacement of components of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Perform general maintenance and upkeep of buildings; inspect assigned buildings, mechanical equipment, machines, and other structural components.
Transport tools, equipment, and personnel to and from the job site.
Obtain equipment and supplies required to complete assignments.
May coordinate contractor service delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate, or Vocational School Diploma.
Required Qualifications
Two to three years of job-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
2-3 years of maintenance experience required.
Basic plumbing and electrical skills.
Knowledge of HVAC systems and carpentry.
Experience in multi-family housing (apartment communities) preferred.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.
Must be available for mandatory 24/7 on-call rotation.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
Proposed Salary
Pay Range: $18.51–$25.18/hr.
Skills / Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Position requires the ability to operate hand/power tools, motor vehicles (including forklifts), and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment. A basic working knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair, and building construction support and maintenance is required. Use of specialized computer applications may be required.
