Position Overview

The Junior Accountant will play a key role in supporting the daily accounting operations for Bunker Hill. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. Core duties include preparing routine journal entries, processing transactions, completing balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting inventory accounting activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, commitment to accuracy, eagerness to learn, and ability to work in a fast‑paced operational environment.
Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare and post routine journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Support month‑end close activities, including data gathering and validation within established deadlines.
Process and review accounts payable and receivable transactions for accuracy and proper coding.
Process journal entries, invoices, and other financial transactions accurately and on time each month.
Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, inventory, prepaid expenses, and accruals.
Assist with inventory accounting, including reconciliation of physical counts to system records and identifying, documenting, and communicating physical inventory variances promptly.
Maintain accurate accounting documentation and records in support of audits and internal controls.
Support purchase order, receipt, and three‑way match processes in coordination with procurement.
Adhere to internal controls, accounting policies, audit requirements, and compliance standards.
Coordinate effectively with operations, warehouse, and procurement teams to support accounting processes.
Communicate with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and obtain supporting documentation.
Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1–3 years of accounting experience (internships or co‑op experience welcome).
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
General understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic accounting and financial analysis skills.
Effective time management and prioritization.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to learn and adapt in an operational environment.
Preferred Experience

Experience in mining, manufacturing, or heavy industrial settings.
Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage, Pronto).
Progress toward CPA or other professional certifications.
Physical Requirements

Site‑based role in an active mine operation.
Primarily office‑based with occasional visits to warehouse or operational areas.
Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
May require occasional overtime during month‑end close.
