Machine Operator
As a Machine Operator, you will set up and operate rubber extruder, lathes, media blast and grinders/finishers. Your role involves ensuring machine functionality and product quality through regular inspections and measurements using pie tapes and calipers, as well as adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment.

Responsibilities

Follow production instructions and tasks from process sheets, blueprints, or verbal directions provided by the supervisor.

Install machine fixtures: align and secure dies, punches, blades, or other fixtures to ensure the machine operates safely.

Operate machinery such as extruders, grinders/finishers, media blaster, saws, and CNC machines according to specifications.

Inspect operations: monitor the production process to ensure that machines are functioning correctly and products meet quality standards. Perform regular inspections and measurements of finished products to verify they meet specified tolerances using pie tapes, calipers, and gauges.

Adhere to cleanliness and safety protocols: follow safety protocols and guidelines, wear PPE, use a crane or buddy system for large parts, keep work area clean and organized.

Perform other duties: assist in other areas or departments as needed.

Schedule

1st Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm.

Qualifications

Math skills: average math skills, ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English, and complete simple logs and reports in English.

Physical capability: handle heavy items, including lifting, pushing, pulling, positioning components; must be able to wear a respirator to operate a media blaster.

Attendance compliance: work scheduled hours and comply with company timekeeping and policies.

Stamina: consistently stand for entire shift in non-climate-controlled shop environment.

Machining knowledge: fundamental machining concepts and proficiency in using measuring devices.

Collaboration: work closely with team members, supervisors, to optimize production processes and implement improvements.

Accuracy: attention to detail, read tape measure to 1/16".

Reliability: strong commitment to dependability and consistent performance.
