Equipment Distribution Technician – Jacksonville, FL
Salary: $19–20/hr
Job Summary
The Equipment Distribution Technician works under the direction of the Equipment Distribution Director and ensures proper cleaning, transportation, and par‑level maintenance of various medical devices. The role also performs basic operational verification of mobile medical devices, supports regional travel, and provides a pathway to become a Biomedical Equipment Technician.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Perform proper cleaning and infection control procedures
Transport patient care equipment and supplies within allotted time
Conduct basic operations checks on equipment before distribution
Deliver and set up required equipment
Return equipment to the Equipment Distribution department after pick up
Inspect equipment for proper preventative maintenance and forward out‑of‑date items to Clinical Engineering
Complete all required training
Notify nursing staff of equipment pick‑ups and deliveries
Respond expeditiously to calls from clinical departments and customers to evaluate and rectify valid operator complaints and concerns
Flexibility to work augmented shifts based on unit needs and client contractual requirements
Display effective client service in accordance with client satisfaction survey protocol
Maintain an orderly and functional working environment, ensuring tools and test equipment are calibrated and functional before use
Follow 5S methodology
Generate work orders for discovered broken equipment
Learn, understand, and comply with all government, regulatory, industry, company, and client policies and procedures, and subsequent updates
Maintain accurate records of work performed
Perform other duties as assigned that are intrinsic to successful business operations
Qualifications
Education : High school diploma or equivalent; general knowledge of clean room or sterile environment preferred
Experience : Minimum of two years consistent employment in a hospital or cleaning capacity
