We’re hiring a Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic) at our rental facility in De Witt, IA. You’ll maintain and repair a variety of customer and company-owned heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts, with opportunities to work on one of the newest fleets in the industry.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours. This role may be on-call with additional compensation.
Responsibilities

Use our system to create, assign, and monitor work orders, track service intervals, order parts, and diagnose issues by pulling data from hundreds of makes and models.
Determine root causes and corrective actions quickly to enable smart, efficient repairs.
Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment.
Use technology (laptops and tablets) comfortably to document work and access information.
Perform maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools with a high degree of independent judgment.
Assist in the training of lower-level technicians as needed.
Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner daily.
Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred).
Year-round company-provided OEM training.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills & Abilities

Must own tools applicable to the position
Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with understanding of schematics and diagrams
Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills
Education And Experience

High school diploma; trade school certificate preferred
Experience in field service, maintenance, and repair preferred
Physical Requirements

Must be able to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
This is a safety-sensitive position; employment contingent on passing a 10-panel drug screen
