
Sterile Processing Tech - Per Diem

Shriners Children’s, the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center, invites per diem Sterile Processing Technician I to join our Surgical Services team.
This position is per diem, day shift, non-exempt and benefits eligible. The pay range for this position is
$19.56 /hour –
$29.35 /hour, based on years of experience and departmental equity.
Job Responsibilities
Process sterile supplies and instruments for operative procedures, selecting appropriate sterilization/disinfection technique.
Maintain sterilization and environmental quality controls and ensure accurate records of equipment maintenance.
Decontaminate, process, and store sterile instrumentation, hardware, and equipment for intraoperative use using infection control procedures.
Collaborate with operating room personnel during perioperative phases including case turnovers.
Manage surgical inventory and perform other routine tasks as assigned.
Education
High School diploma or GED required.
Certification & Licensure
Sterile Processing Technician certification (CSPDT) – Preferred.
Experience
Minimum 1 year experience – Required.
2 years experience in Central Supply, Sterile Processing, or Surgical Instrumentation Room – Preferred.
Previous exposure to orthopedic instruments – Desirable.
