Minimum Qualification Requirements
Legal Authorization to Work : The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State to be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
State of Hawaii Plumber License : Applicants must possess a valid State of Hawaii Journey Worker Plumber License or Master Plumber License at the time of application.
Note : Hawaii does not have reciprocity agreements with other jurisdictions. For information about obtaining a Hawaii-issued plumber's license, please contact the State of Hawaii, Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA).
Driver's License : Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
Federal Criminal History Records Check : In accordance with federal regulations, persons being considered for employment in positions requiring unescorted access to secured areas at the airport must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. To be granted Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance, applicants must not have been convicted, or found not guilty by reason of insanity, of a disqualifying criminal offense within 10 years from the date of the application. Upon recommendation for hire, applicants must successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years. The cost for the records check is the applicant's responsibility.
