Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Med Tech (Medication Technician) to join our Assisted Living team on a PRN basis. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in residents' daily lives by assisting with medication administration while ensuring a safe and supportive environment. This position requires a commitment to delivering high-quality care and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
Key Responsibilities
Administer medications to residents according to physician orders and facility protocols.
Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility assistance.
Monitor and document residents' health status, medication effectiveness, and any side effects or adverse reactions.
Maintain accurate medication administration records and ensure compliance with state regulations and facility policies.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members regarding medication management and health concerns.
Support the nursing staff in executing healthcare plans and conducting regular health assessments.
Ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents and staff.
Participate in training and continuing education to stay updated on best practices in medication management and assisted living care.
Assist with emergency protocols as needed and maintain a calm demeanor in stressful situations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification as a Medication Technician/Medication Aide preferred.
Previous experience in assisted living, long-term care, or a related healthcare field is highly desirable.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Knowledge of medication administration and safe handling practices.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
Must pass background checks and drug screening as required by the facility.
Working Conditions
This position may require standing for extended periods, lifting and transferring residents, and performing tasks in various settings within the facility.
PRN shifts may vary based on facility needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
