Job Summary
Using claims systems to accurately document files, this role manages a diary and handles first and third party auto claims promptly, proactively and with a sense of urgency. May be responsible for handling attorney‑represented first and third party claims, and cases involving serious injury or complicated investigations. Through training, continuously improves skills applicable to including but not limited to claims investigation, liability determination, coverage confirmation, establishing damages, evaluating bodily injury damages and negotiation of claims settlement.

Essential Job Functions
Adjusts highly complex claims through professional, interpersonal interactions with key stakeholders. Conducts thorough investigation on assigned claims, confirms coverage, determines liability, identifies sub‑rogation rights, establishes damages, reports status, and negotiates settlement. Has elevated authority to make payment of assigned claims within prescribed limits; prepares for arbitration as needed. Inspects damaged property and vehicles, estimates the cost of repair or replacement, determines claims‑related damage, and reports sub‑rogation potential. May initiate sale of salvage vehicles, personal property, and miscellaneous salvage items. Evaluates bodily injury claims and reports theft, fraud, and arson losses to required agencies. Maintains job knowledge through training and incorporates new information into daily tasks. Mentors and supports peers as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Actions
Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects weighing 0‑10 pounds without assistance. Operates a computer for extended periods; uses hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment.

Physical Environment
This position operates in an open office working environment which includes normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions.

Education Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Insurance Adjusters License in applicable states required.

Experience Requirements
Minimum two years of prior claims experience required.
