Currently looking for a Second Shift Tool & Die Maker to fill a direct hire opening with a company in Watertown, WI. Interested candidates should have at least one year of metal stamping tool and die experience as an absolute minimum with punch presses being a plus.
Responsibilities of the Second Shift Tool & Die Maker
Build tooling for multistation blank‑through, parting and chop‑off progressive dies for metal stamping punch presses and other presses such as Bihlers, Bruderer's and OBI's. AIDA, Stamtec, Verson and US Baird.
Review designs in AutoCAD or other CAD systems to interpret how to machine and build the tooling, progressive dies, etc.
Apply your understanding of bend allowances, strip layouts, tonnage calculations, cut relief, tool steels such as 01, A2 and D2 and other aspects specific to tool and die making.
Develop cost reductions such as learning to incorporate in‑die sensors or in‑die tapping by working with outside tooling suppliers to automate the presses if feasible.
Quote cycle times and tooling costs for new business.
Serve as liaison working with customers to solve metal stamping challenges.

TMA Tool and Die Certifications a plus
Compensation of the Second Shift Tool & Die Maker
The targeted annual base salary for this first shift position ranges from $28.00 per hour to $43.00 per hour depending on experience and is paid on an hourly basis including OT potential.
Compensation: $89,440 per year
